Guernsey is a great place to holiday. It has close links with French cuisine, architecture and Renoir didn’t mind painting the coastline every now and then! We had a chat amongst ourselves and came up with a list of what we think are the must do’s and highlights of any stay here in Guernsey.
Highlights and Must-do’s
- A visit to the German occupation museum, underground hospital, maritime museum at the cup and saucer at Rocquaine Bay
- A trip to Herm, Sark or both!!
- Guernsey’s battle of the flowers in August
- Guernsey flower festival in June
- Plenty of good fishing and diving opportunities
- Liberation day celebrations on the 9th of May
- A walk to Lihou Island at low tide
- Take an afternoon stroll through the lanes in either Kings mills or St Martins
- A visit to Castle Cornet in St Peter Port
- The little chapel
- For the energetic, a cliff walk on the south side of the island with lunch at one of the restaurants dotting the path.
- Visit Victor Hugo’s house where he wrote Les Miserables
- See the band Pete plays in!!
